Current System Status: Fully Operational

SERVICE: Our internet access connects at Ethernet speeds of 10 to 15Mbs to our dedicated 6MB T-1lines. Our design objective was to make the system as transparent and similar to a corporate experience as possible in a hotel setting.  Our advanced wireless clusters add convenience to in-room connections.  Please call the Front Desk with any problems.  They are not experts, but can find on-site and off-site assistance.

THREAT PROTECTION: Primary responsibility is yours. Current virus protection on your laptop is very important. Our DHCP server binds private addresses to public addresses.  Each room is isolated from all other rooms, but no firewall protection is provided.  At a minimum, you should consider activating your personal firewall. Please be alert to unusual behavior on your laptop.

VPN: In the last two years of testing and implementation, we have worked to ensure corporate connectivity. As corporations continue to fight intrusions, you may have difficulty connecting in some instances.  Since we assign you your own static public address, this should not be a problem here.

WIRELESS: We provide wireless connectivity in the guest rooms.  Security issues are still an issue with wireless, but we have Cat 5 wired connections in each room for those with security concerns about using a wireless connection.  For intensive applications, our wired connections are superior to the wireless experience.
